We are Wanderers... Some people live their lives deliberately going from place to place. We too spend our work days doing that. But it seems that the best moments in life often happen by chance, unexpected and unplanned.

In this blog, we will try to capture the wonder we have felt when we happened upon the scenes shared here. Beauty and interest are truly where you find them. "Vagando" is the Spanish word for wandering and beautifully captures the feeling of freedom and ease we experience in our mini adventures. We hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as we have enjoyed finding them.

Fall Colors Across Western Colorado

We love all of the seasons in Colorado, but fall is just a little bit special..  From the first hint of color in the high country, to the last beautiful colors on the river, we spend every weekend chasing the change of seasons.  The pictures in this blog were taken over the past month starting at the continental divide to just short of the Utah border.  From the high forests to the deserts, the colors inspire a sense of awe at the beautiful world we live in. I hope you find some of the peace we found as we stopped to enjoy each scene.

High Summer on the Grand Mesa

On a recent 100 degree weekend, we escaped to the cool of the Grand Mesa.  The "Mesa" is one of the largest flat top mountain in the world and is home to hundreds of beautiful lakes.  At more than 10,000 feet of elevation, it seems like you can see forever.  Or you can look down into the crystal clear waters and take in the wonderful colors of the fields of wild flowers.  When things are hot and hectic in the valley, its a wonderful place to soak in the cool and the peace of the national forest.

Fireworks!

No matter how old you are, there is something magical about a fireworks display.  The pictures in this post were all taken at the July 4th Fireworks display in Grand Junction.  We were lucky enough to share it with two of our grand children and watch the reflection of the spectacle in their smiling eyes.
